We made our way back to the hotel and the couple got some time to mingle with their guests. The delicious wedding breakfast was served followed by the cutting of the (cheese)cake.  The French contingent made up a song for the couple the night before and sang it to them shortly after the meal finished which made for many beautiful moments including Delphine being brought to tears.  After they had a delectable assortment of desserts, cheeses, and ice cream for all to enjoy.

The first dance started with the French tradition of the bride dancing with her father and then the groom cutting in.  It was a lively dance floor thanks to the joyful group of family and friends and a fab band.  The bride and groom and crowd danced long into the night and I did my best to capture the lovely moments that they provided.  It was a beautiful wedding day and night for a brilliant couple.  Much love to both for letting me capture their day.

I met John 11 years ago when he was kind enough to host a friend and I in Ireland as we made our way traveling around Europe.  I greatly enjoyed his sarcasm and humor and we kept in touch visiting each other wherever we both moved.  We hadn’t seen each other in person in a while but we kept in contact and I had been hearing about “Frenchy” for quite some time and finally had the pleasure of meeting Delphine last year when I visited Dublin and spent a glorious banter-filled weekend with the two of them.  I remember thinking they were perfect for each other and I was happy they found each other.

I arrived in Ireland Thursday and spent the evening with the two of them.  They were kind enough to arrange my way over to Doolin with their friend Gerry.  Their wedding day was over in a blur.  I started off with Delphine getting ready with her mum, sister, and nieces.  Everyone in the room was easy to photograph as they were relaxed and cheerful.  Her nieces were quite inquisitive and their curiosity provided fantastic moments.  I quickly ran up to meet my friend and took some photos of the groom getting ready as well as a few family photos.

Their lovely humanist ceremony was starting and over before we knew it with some heartfelt and humorous moments shared by all.  We had been discussing what to as far as weather the past few days and since the sun was out after the ceremony we decided to seize the opportunity.  Their friend Javed (and now mine) kindly drove us to various locations around Doolin.  It was blustery to say the least for the couples photos but extreme weather can make for dramatic photos if the couple is up for braving the cold and these two certainly were.
