Marie & Danny were kind enough to provide the perfect ending to a fabulous year in Ireland for New Years Eve celebration at Marlfield House.  The evening before I was graciously invited to enjoy dinner with their closest family and friends and have the opportunity to get to know the guests prior to the wedding.  Dinner was delicious and guests had great senses of humor which made for a splendid evening.  The wedding day started with Marie and her bridesmaids getting ready in a  glorious room illuminated by the winter sun. Marie was the ideal bride to photograph.  In addition to being completely relaxed and delightfully happy she has a grace I’ve rarely encountered.  Everything she did was with elegance.  After an hour with the ladies I made my way down the hall over to photograph Danny and his groomsmen getting ready.  They were looking dapper and in fantastic sprits and provided many moments.  I always appreciate when the bride and groom are getting ready in the same place as it simply allows me concentrate on capturing moments.  Back over to Marie to capture the finishing touches of her getting ready.  She was looking absolutely stunning and her father came to escort her to the church.  I absolutely loved the way Danny looked at Marie when he saw her in her gown, he was clearly smitten.  There was an absolute downpour during the ceremony but for a day with heavy rain the Irish weather couldn’t have been more cooperative providing warm winter sunlight whenever the bride was outside.  The ceremony was a humorous one and soon over with the happy couple being congratulated by their wedding guests.  Afterwards we headed back through Gorey to Marlfield House to enjoy drinks and canapés.  We quickly took a few group photos followed by a short walk with the happy couple to capture them.  Marie & Danny’s interaction was affectionate and natural and I barely suggested a word.  The couple entered the dinner reception to a thunderous applause and everyone enjoyed a delectable 5 course dinner.  The speeches were heartfelt and humorous ending with Danny’s brother Shane giving the finishing touch and lot of laughs.  The first dance kicked off the late night celebrations and 80’s dancing provided fun spirited entertainment.  The New Year’s evening counted down with a beautiful kiss at the stroke of midnight followed by a brilliant firework show outside.  More dancing continued and love was in the air as the couple’s enthusiasm was contagious especially on the dance floor.  The dancing ended with everyone surrounding the newlyweds in a energetic last hurrah.  At 3am a friend was playing the piano and providing a mini concert for the couple and last remaining guests.  It was truly a magnificent occasion and a wonderful way to end the year for everyone in attendance!
