I had the pleasure of meeting Debbie and Stuart last year.  They were a lovely couple who flattered me with their enthusiasm for my work.  I was excited for my first wedding at the University of Glasgow and another wedding at Mar Hall.  I always love photographing Mar Hall, its a beautiful venue with impeccable service.  This was my fourth wedding at Mar Hall and I do my best to make sure the photographs are different each time.  I would not feel I’ve done my job if couples feel like their photographs are anything less than unique.  As a photojournalist this is quite easy as I’m simply telling their story.

I had the pleasure of seeing Debbie and Stuart again in February when they came through to Edinburgh and was able to take a few photographs of them in the old town.  They were both very relaxed and natural in front of the camera and easy to photograph which always makes my work easier.

On the joyous day I arrived at Debbie’s parents house to find a very relaxed and happy bride to be.   Her family was equally happy and incredibly gracious.  After some getting ready photographs we headed over to the University of Glasgow Chapel where the delighted couple was wed.  Its obvious Stuart adores Debbie by the way looks at her.  Soon after we took a few photographs in the surroundings of the University including the cloisters which provided fantastic photo opportunities.  Everyone headed to Mar Hall which had plenty of energy and excitement was in the air.  Mar Hall provided scrumptious canapés(period here and start new sentence.)  I snapped a few family photographs.  Immediately followed by heartfelt speeches, a delicious meal, and the cutting of their wedding cake.  During the first dance and all subsequent dances throughout the evening you could tell Debbie and Stuart were completely captivated by one another. I loved seeing their interactions and that is what made them such a pleasure to photograph.  It was a glorious day and I was thrilled to be a part of their celebration.
