Recently I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Sharon and David. They are a lovely down to earth couple who I liked immediately. Their wedding day went incredibly smoothly. The staff at Mount Stuart are always amazing and the couple was laid back and fun and simply enjoyed their big day. There was also lots of fantastic children to photograph. I love having children at a wedding because they are the best thing possible for photojournalism. They are always up to something and ensures there is never a dull moment. The kids at this wedding were especially entertaining and great to photograph and I was very pleased with the photographs.
I’ve always believed emotion is better revealed through black and white photography. Even though I find color absolutely breathtaking at times it can also be a distraction from the decisive moment. Because of this belief of mine I’ve always wanted to do a wedding in exclusively black in white. As I was making a list of my favorite photographs I noticed the vast majority were in black and white and thus I decided this was the right wedding for it only black and white. With one colorful exception I thought would be nice to break the mold. I was excited for this to be the wedding of Sharon and David as they were a gracious and lovely couple.
