As I spend the majority of my time in Edinburgh and because Tara & Jamie live down south, the first time I talked with them in person was over skype. It was a brilliant conversation as they proved to be a witty and hilarious couple with loads of personality. It was obvious this was going to be a great wedding.
A few months later while I was down in London we managed to meet up for a bit. After struggling to find a table, we settled on a completely empty place where we could talk. We had a fantastic time chatting and discussing the wedding. Tara & Jamie are a very personable couple and I was really excited for the upcoming wedding. When I arrived for the wedding, the sun was shining in Tara’s room and she was already stunning. She and her bridesmaids were happy, calm, and collected. A few more showed up and soon there was a fair bit going on with the ladies cracking jokes and setting a beautiful scene for the day. I took a quick jaunt to go see the gentlemen and discovered Jamie looking dapper in his suit and having a great time with his groomsmen. Soon after I headed back to the ladies to find a wonderful buzz in the air with the wedding drawing near. Tara always has a natural elegance but she was looking absolutely regal in her dress. I quickly took a few bridal portraits before we jumped in the classic car!The ceremony was a relatively short and sweet one with several moments of laughter. Afterwards guests congratulated the new couple and enjoy canapes and drinks before heading outside for group photographs. I was particularly pleased with the group photographs though I must credit the subjects because their humor actually created the moments. A short time later everyone enjoyed a delectable meal created by the team at the Mansfield Traquair. I stole the gorgeous couple away quickly for some couples photographs while the sun was still shining. They shared a lovely interaction and I barely suggested a thing. I experienced something different at this wedding which was putting on a harness to go up above. I’ve worn harnesses before when rock climbing, though never in a suit which made for a fun and unique experience for me.The speeches were the perfect combination laughter and sentiment. Jamie had a brilliant no-holds-barred speech that had everyone in hysterics. His brothers continued the trend and kept the room laughing. Ceilidh dancing followed and did a brilliant job of getting everyone on the dance floor. The dancing never stopped and the bride and groom led the dancing long into the night! The combination of personalities, laughter, beauty, and light made it a dream wedding to photograph and I was thrilled to capture it for them!!
