The reception at Summer Hall was a gathering of love, laughter, heartfelt emotions, and fabulous desserts. The speeches were a testament to the impact that M and N have had on their friends and family. M’s brother delivered a speech that I found particularly moving and stirred emotions from everyone in the room.  Expressing not only his admiration and love for his sister but also his heartfelt joy for the union of these two remarkable souls.

As their friend and photographer, I was on a mission to capture every fleeting moment. From the emotional speeches that left an indelible mark on everyone’s hearts to the laughter that echoed through the hall it was a delight to witness and preserve.

To M and N, may your journey ahead be as beautiful and enchanting as the day you celebrated your love. Your connection is truly beautiful, and I’m honored to have captured the essence of your big day. Here’s to a future filled with endless art, shared laughter, and boundless love.

With love,
Boyd

Heartfelt Moments: M & N’s Edinburgh Wedding

On a perfect (Scottish) summer day, M & N exchanged vows amidst the enchanting beauty of the Edinburgh Botanical Gardens. As their friend and photographer, I had the immense privilege of capturing their radiant love and the cherished moments that unfolded throughout their special day.

I have been friends with M for 10 years. Around 2015, she was considering online dating, but she didn’t fully trust the process of finding someone via the internet. With her consent, though not with much enthusiasm, her friend Kristina and I took it upon ourselves to create a dating profile for her. We started chatting with several potential candidates as M. I don’t recall much about the other individuals, but we began conversing with N and immediately found her to be funny and witty. As our conversations with her (still as M) continued, Kristina and I became increasingly excited for M. We suggested that N might be the person she should meet in person. After reading through the messages, M agreed and expressed her desire to meet N. The rest is herstory (and this was extensively covered in their vows).

M and N’s love for each other is nothing short of inspiring. The adoration in their eyes as they stood before each other in the gardens was a testament to the depth of their connection.

During the first dance the soulful melody of “Home,” was performed by none other than N’s talented cousin and her family. The lyrics resonated deeply as M and N joyfully danced, surrounded by their loved ones, turning a beautiful moment into an unforgettable memory.

Mount Stuart Wedding – Claire & Tony

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Claire & Tony at Mount Stuart on Scotland’s picturesque Isle of Bute.  A lovely down-to-earth couple whose wedding day proved to be a relaxed and joyous occasion.

I hold a belief that emotion is better revealed through black-and-white photography.  While I love color, at times it can also be a distraction from the moments.  The majority of my favorite photos from this day ended up being black and white.

Part 1 of Annierose & Conors wedding

After the ceremony the party was underway.  There was tennis and jenga enjoyed by all.  The wedding breakfast was beautifully catered.  Thanks to the couples patience to my enthusiasm combined with it being a small wedding I was afforded the luxury to whisk them away on a multiple occasions and make the most of the gorgeous surroundings.  The day flew by and soon they were cutting the cake and the band prepared.  Their first dance was the precursor to a lively dance floor enjoyed by all attendees.  It was a perfect ending to a extraordinary day.

The following day I had a lovely wood fired pizza lunch with the wedding party in the walled garden.  On wedding days I tend to be rather busy and unable to chat much, the following day provided a wonderful opportunity to be social and a chance to get to know the families better.

I had a slight accident with my own drone just days before the wedding and her father Donald was kind enough to let me borrow his.  The following day he was also kind enough to help his daughter get into the flower pond for one of my crazier ideas.  Truly Annierose couldn’t have been more adventurous rocking the frock as she was whiling to lay down in the pond.  The sun came out as well for a wee bit and we got a couple more photos of them.  It was a wonderful few days joining two delightful families.
