ABOUT ME
I’ve always loved stories. My father is a great storyteller and I remember always asking him to tell me a story. I’m always touched when I’m asked to help tell other peoples stories. I consider myself a photojournalist. While I’m typically a talkative and inquisitive person, on your wedding you probably won’t see or hear me very often as I’m largely silent and at a distance. With weddings the emotion is everywhere and stories tell themselves, it is unnecessary to direct and I believe makes for a worse user experience. I trust that the day will create moments and I observe and document.
I was born and raised in Montana. A vast and beautiful land which remains largely unspoiled by its small population. I studied fine art and graphic design and continue to work as a visual artist creating photography, films, and ceramics. I took one photography class in university, other than that I’m entirely self taught. I fell in love with traveling and during this time my passion for preserving memories surfaced. Now I photograph and film everything I encounter.
I climbs trees, poles, and buildings, lay on the ground, get in the water and just about anything physically possible to find the right composition.
While I’m typically quiet and focused while photographing a wedding, my typical demeanor is more laid back and fun loving. Also available for honeymoon photography.
